Position Explorer Chart allows you to chart search term positional data (including SERP features) and highlights multiple sites’ performance over time. The Position Explorer Chart is a timeline that uses Pi's Daily, Weekly, or Monthly positional data and can highlight multiple sites' performance for a single term or multiple search terms' performance across a single site, as well as give you the ability to analyse SERP features.

How does Position Explorer Chart work?

Position Explorer Chart allows you to ask data questions by loading positional data from the Workspace of search terms, these dimensions can be selected using the collapsable data form. You have the option to save insights from these data questions.

Position Explorer Chart can be found in the 'performance' drop-down in the navigation:

Data Source

Choose a Workspace and Search Engine from the drop-down.

Analysis Type: Site

The Site analysis type allows you to chart up to 12 search terms for a single Site.

Analysis type: Search Term

Include SERP Features

Position Explorer Chart will automatically show classic links. Include SERP features to show in the Position Explorer Chart. This allows you to get a view of the entire SERP landscape.

* Note: SERP Features are only available on Google Desktop and Mobile search engines.

This is an interactive chart that allows you to view the performance of Search Terms against a site or vice versa.

  • Use the date picker to change the range of your data.

  • Use the Zoom options to show 1-10, 20, 50, and 100 positions on the chart.

The tables below the chart show the returning URL for the period range and show you the top 100 returning URL's for a single date.

From these charts, you can choose to select URL's to chart against the Search Term or open in Page Diagnostics
