A Site is a collection of domains and URLs. It is up to you to define, but a Site could be:

  • Root domain (therefore including all sub-domains). E.g. example.com

  • Sub-domain. E.g. shop.example.com or www.example.com

  • Single or a collection of social media assets. E.g. facebook.com/pi.user

  • A directory level within a site structure. E.g. example.com/page

It can be made up of one or more paths and can have a customised label.

Competitor Sites / My Sites

Sites on Pi Datametrics are separated into 2 main categories :

  • Competitor Sites – URLs that the My Sites will likely compete within the SERPs. These can be found by using Competitor Discovery.

  • My Sites – Assets the Client has authority over (This could be the main website, partners, social media pages etc).

Account Sites

These sites sit on the account level, rather than workspace level and are the quickest way to incorporate sites across all areas of your account.

Account sites can be used in all Workspaces, the Vault, and Market Intelligence.

They are split into Competitors and My Sites.

Account sites can be found found in the 'data and setup' drop-down in the navigation.

Add Account Sites

From here you can add My Sites and Competitor Sites.

From this tab you can :

  • Add a single site (Using one or multiple base URL’s).

  • Use the ‘Remove’ and ‘Add another URL’ buttons to change the number of sites you wish to add.

  • Select the ‘Use multiple Base URLs’ button to add multiple base URLs to a site.

  • Label the site if needed (This is optional, and will default to the inputted URL).

* Note: If a site entered includes a ‘sub domain’ and/or a ‘URL path’ you will be directed to the ‘Base URL Recommendations‘ page. There, you will be asked how you want them to be added to the Workspace, whether it should be kept the same or changed to the root domain.

Bulk Site Entry

Use this option to copy and paste a list of sites from another source into the input box. This will separate the sites into individual lines for input similar to the ‘Add Sites’ tab. The next page provides the option to label the sites and add or remove multiple URLs to track for a particular site.

Tags

Tags help you categorise the sites in a workspace.

Tags can either mark Primary/Secondary sites or help to mark sites competing for certain search term groups. They can help make index creation simpler by grouping the sites around specific areas.

Delete Sites

Select sites to delete and use the 'Apply selection to' drop-down menu to remove them.

Edit Sites

Use the Edit site tool to change the Label or Base URLs.

Workspace Sites

To add sites to a workspace in your account, go to the dashboard of the workspace. Once here, click the sites tab and then either 'Add My Sites' or 'Add Competitor Sites'. Alternatively, you can click the 'manage sites' icon on the right. From here, follow the same process as adding account sites.

Import Sites

At the workspace level, you can also import sites from other workspaces. Click the 'Import' tab to see a list of sites from other workspaces in the account that you can then select using the tick boxes and import to the current workspace you are viewing
