Overview

Using the calculated organic value score of a search term, Historic Revenue Potential is the potential revenue available for the entire market and business categories, trending over time.

This chart gives you a view of historical and seasonal revenue trends. Using this insight, you can build business cases for different categories and inform decision-making across content and planning.

Utilise this data to understand the peaks and declines in revenue opportunity and identify which search theme trends will generate the most commercial value throughout the year.

Where to find Historic Revenue Potential

Historic Revenue Potential can be found in the 'Opportunity' section of the left-hand navigation menu:

How to use Historic Revenue Potential

From the drop-down, select which MI you wish to analyse then click, 'Explore':

Chart

Hover over any of the data points to see the historic revenue potential for the categories. The colour legend below the chart indicates which marker is associated with each category:

Use the colour legend at the top to select a category to analyse. The lines of the chart will drill down to the subcategories:

Table

The scrollable table below the chart shows the historic revenue potential for each category or subcategory and the sum of all categories/subcategories for each of the past 36 months:

Chart Exports

Clicking the icon in the top-right of the chart reveals options to download the chart as a CSV, PNG, or SVG.
