Understanding the three revenue opportunity components

The revenue opportunity collection of Market Intelligence modules uses the calculated organic value score of a search term and the site’s SERP positioning. It provides estimates of the revenue that should have been obtained for the category of search terms.

Estimated revenue performance

Focusing on your chosen site, this module reviews the estimated revenue performance over time of different categories and sub-categories. This shows you how weekly or monthly search visibility correlates to revenue.

Realise the revenue your site is able to generate over time, based on their organic performance across individual search categories and themes.

Hover over any of the data points to see the estimated revenue performance calculation for the categories. The colour legend below the chart indicates which marker is associated with each category.

Click on a ‘Category’ from the panel on the left for deep-dive intelligence.

Hover over a sub-category on any data point to see the estimated revenue performance. Each marker on the chart has an associated category in the colour legend below the chart.

Select and Deselect sub-categories you wish to be shown in the chart for further analysis.

Estimated revenue opportunity

Based on the calculated organic value score of a search term and the site’s SERP positioning, this is a single week or month's estimated revenue opportunity for the site within this category.

Find out your site's remaining commercial opportunity in the context of the market landscape, based on estimated organic revenue.

  • Organic Revenue - how much revenue your site is currently generating on page 1 based on the search terms in the category.

  • Target - refers to the highest opportunity of those search terms which aren't on page one but are still ranking on pages 2 and 3.

  • Opportunities - search terms the site does not position for on pages 1, 2, and 3.

  • Benchmark - indicates where sites that are performing well typically sit.

Click on a ‘Category’ from the left-hand panel to delve into individual search categories and themes.

Historic revenue potential

Using the calculated organic value score of a search term, this is the potential revenue available for the entire market and business categories, trended over time.

* Note: Due to a lag in Google market data, the two most recent months may not be available at the time of reporting.

This chart gives you a view of historical and seasonal revenue trends. Using this insight, you can build business cases for different categories and inform decision making across content and planning.
