Overview

This tool allows you to view search volume over time and quickly see year-on-year search theme trends, peaks and declines in demand and importantly, the themes with the greatest commercial opportunity. This can be used to influence content planning and strategic sales initiatives.

Note: A Market Intelligence (MI) view must already be created to use this tool. Find out how to create one, here.

Where to find Search Volume Timeline

You can find the tool in the Opportunity drop-down in the navigation.

How to use Search Volume Timeline

Select an MI report from your account to explore using the drop-down menu.

Use the colour legend to select and de-select categories to analyse. Hover over the data points on the chart to see the search volume for a specific category during that period.

Chart Exports

Select the icon at the top right of the chart to download this data as a CSV, PNG or SVG

Table

Below the Search Volume Timeline chart is a table containing each category's total Search Volume per month and the total Search Volume for the combined categories. Use the columns drop-down to select or deselect what months to include on the table.

*Note: Due to a lag in Google market data, the two most recent months may not be available at the time of reporting.
