Using Pi's AI enhanced content recommendations

Where to find Optimise Now

Optimise Now can be found in the Content area of the left-hand navigation:

How to create an optimisation target

Click the blue, 'Create content recommendations' button in the top-right:

In the pop-up box, select the search term, search engine, and site to analyse:

The optimisation will now appear in the list showing the following:

  • Target

    • Search term

    • URL

  • Scores

    • Overall

    • Internal linking

    • Content and theming

    • Quality signals

  • Positions

  • Target actions

    • Todo

    • Done

Actions

Click in the 'Actions' column to go to the:

  • Page performance breakdown

  • Internal linking opportunities

  • Page content and theming

  • Quality Signals

  • Delete Optimise Now target

Page performance breakdown

Page performance breakdown shows your overall score and a graph with the historical positions of the selected search term for the previous month.

Summaries of the Internal linking opportunities, Page content and theming, and Quality Signals include:

  • Score

  • Recommendations

  • Actions - how many

  • Completion - percentage and number of actions done

  • Assigned to - which team member the actions have been assigned to

Clicking on either summary will take you to that action.

Internal linking opportunities

At the top of the page is the same summary as the page performance breakdown.

The Internal linking opportunities table includes the following:

  • Recommended internal links

  • Recommended action

  • Current anchor text

  • Recommended anchor text

  • Status

  • Actions

Here, you can assign all tasks to yourself or a fellow team member. Use either the actions link or the checkboxes and 'Apply selection to' to set the action as done, todo or remove the action:

Page content and theming

At the top of the page is the same summary as the page performance breakdown, followed by 2 tables: Feature opportunity and Content actions and suggestions.

Feature opportunity

These features returned for analysed search over the last 30 days. The table includes:

  • SERP Feature

  • Visibility score for the last 30 days

  • Guideline - either follow the actions in the Content actions and suggestions table or click through to the Knowledge base article for best practice advice

Content actions and suggestions

The content actions and suggestions table includes:

  • On-page element

  • Feature

  • Recommended action

  • Content suggestion - click the icon to copy the recommendation to your clipboard

  • Status

Use either the actions link or the checkboxes and 'Apply selection to' to set the action as done, todo or remove the action:

Quality Signals

Quality Signals analyse and assess your content based on Google's helpful content guidelines which are part of Google Search's core ranking system. Powered by GPT-4, Quality Signals reviews your content to provide a score for each category in helpful content guidelines, as well as offer content recommendations for each of the categories.

The bar chart scores your content for the following metrics:

  • Expertise - General trustworthiness, clear sourcing, authoritativeness and evidence of expertise in the content

  • Content and Quality - Original information, substantial, complete or comprehensive description of the topic in content

  • Evidence of content creator - Clear who authored the content and further information about the author, their background and the areas they write about

  • How the content was created - Does the content explain how it was written, such as were there tests done on the products they were writing about?

  • Why the content was created - Is it about helping visitors to understand a certain topic? Is it answering a question?

  • Focus on people-first content - Is the content written primarily to help people, such as demonstrating expertise and/or experience around the topic?

  • Avoiding search engine-first content - Is the content primarily written to attract visits from search engines, such as stuffing keywords in the content or writing content to a certain word count?

Quality Signals recommendations

Below the Your score breakdown chart is the Quality Signals recommendations table which lists recommendations based on the categories from your score breakdown. From here, you can set the recommendations as done or remove them from the list.
